Warts

Warts are highly contagious and develop when a virus infects the skin.

The HPV virus is responsible for warts and has more than 100 different types.

Warts on your hands or feet are caused by nearly all types of HPV.

Symptoms

Generally speaking, warts fall into one of five categories.

As a result, each type appears on a different body and has a distinct look.

Common warts

These warts can appear anywhere on your body, not just on your fingers and toes.

You can identify them by their rough, grainy appearance and their round tops.

Common warts have a greyer colour than the skin around them.

Flat warts:

Face, thighs, and arms are common areas for flat warts to appear.

Because they are so small, they are difficult to notice.

On their top, they look as though they’ve been scraped. They can be pink, brownish, or even yellow in colour.

Periungual warts:

When toenails or fingernails are trimmed, periungual warts can appear under or around the nails.

They can be painful and harm the nail’s ability to grow.

Plantar warts:

They appear on the bottom of the feet and are known as plantar warts.

Plantar warts, in contrast to other warts, grow into your skin rather than out of it.

Any hardened skin around a small hole on the bottom of your foot indicates the presence of this condition.

Walking with plantar warts can be uncomfortable because of the pain they cause. See verruca treatment page

Filiform warts:

Around your mouth or nose, as well as on your neck and under your chin, filiform warts appear.

In appearance, they look like tiny flaps of skin, but they’re really just a tiny tag.

As with your skin, filiform warts have the same colour.

Pre-Treatment

Treatment

Cryosonic will use the Cryopen to target warts during treatment.

Wart size will determine treatment duration, but each wart generally takes between 45 and 60 seconds.

After treatment, a frost or crystallisation may appear on the wart.

When the wart is frozen, it is allowed to defrost for a few seconds, and then a second treatment is applied.

A plaster or simple dressing can be used if the treated area is likely to rub and irritate the skin.

However, it is best to leave the treated area unprotected.

Cryopen treatment does not require anaesthesia.

After Treatment
How to prevent further warts:

You can prevent warts or prevent them from spreading to other parts of your body if you already have one on your body. Simple guidelines to follow

What Is Cryopen:

CryoPen uses extreme cold (liquid nitrogen) to freeze and destroy skin lesion tissues.

If you want to remove skin imperfections such as warts, sun damage, brown spots and wrinkles on any part of your body quickly without damaging your skin or causing it to age prematurely, it is a great solution.

Many treatments are no longer provided by your local doctor / GP or the National Health Service.

As leading cosmetic skin specialists with cutting-edge Cryotherapy technology, you can rest assured that we have the solution to many of your skin problems.

Our Cryopen does not require anaesthesia and leaves fewer scars than other methods of skin lesion removal.

In addition, post-treatment care is exceptionally minimal.

How Does Cryopen Work On Warts:

CryoPen emits N2O onto the wart to freeze it for 45-60 seconds at a time, depending on the size.

The wart is then allowed to thaw for a few seconds and then the treatment is repeated.

Permit the lesion to heal for 3 to 4 weeks, and then follow up. Re-freeze and re-check the lesion until you are confident that it is not re-growing again.

However, if the condition returns, you should return as soon as possible to get the best results possible.

In order to successfully treat a common wart, patient expectations and compliance are essential.
